Before the 2023 season, Penn State already had one of the best young running back duos in the Big Ten. With Trey Potts, a former Minnesota running back, the Nittany Lions added a senior presence in the transfer window.
Potts decided to play for Penn State after four years with the Gophers. He did this through the transfer site. Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen are a great running back duo for Penn State.
They both did well as freshmen for the Nittany Lions in 2022. However, the position lacked depth and leadership from upperclassmen after Keyvone Lee, decided to transfer at the end of the bowl season.
Devyn Ford had also quit football before, which made Penn State’s strength a little bit of a worry in the spring.
