Former Clemson CB transfers to ACC school

A former Clemson cornerback is switching to a different ACC institution.

On Monday, Malcolm Greene revealed on Twitter that he had committed to Virginia.

His news comes almost two weeks after he made his transfer portal statement.

Greene, a former four-star prospect, played at Clemson for three seasons. During his career, he had 34 total tackles, four passes defended, two interceptions, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.

He’s had trouble staying healthy since he got at Clemson in 2020; this past autumn, he played seven games before being sidelined with a groyne ailment.

‘I adore Malcolm. Coach Dabo Swinney described Greene as “simply a fantastic young guy, and I tried to support him in his choice.

“As far as where he’s headed, I’m unsure whether anything has resulted from it. I have a solid sense of where he will go. He is among the finest young men to have graduated from our program.

This spring, only Greene has used the transfer portal, leaving Clemson with two more scholarships on the roster than it was allowed to have (85).
