When this group of Tigers talks about Clemson quarterbacks, they mostly talk about starting quarterback Cade Klubnik and highly touted rookie Christopher Vizzina, about whom fans are very excited.
Right now, Clemson has a great group of quarterbacks, but Swinney is most excited about a quarterback you might not expect. The Tigers’ head coach says that Hunter Helms, who used to be a walk-on, has been their best quarterback so far this spring.
Helms has been running with the second-team offense in front of the first-team offense under the direction of quarterback Cade Klubnik because he has been so effective.
Swinney said, “Hunter Helms has had his best spring.” “I’ve had fun watching him. He plays Hunter Helms better than anyone else we’ve seen. He’s really gotten into great shape, which has helped him move around.”
Now, ask yourself: Who will be upset about having more than one quarterback? I don’t think so!
This is great news, and we hope to hear more about Helms in the future.
