2023 NFL mock draft: How the Sean Payton trade impacts the 1st round

The last day of January gave us a blockbuster trade with early implications on the 2023 NFL draft,

as the Denver Broncos and New Orleans Saints agreed to a deal that will see head coach Sean Payton head to the Mile High city.

The Broncos are sending multiple draft picks to the Saints in return for the right to make Payton their new head coach,

which will land New Orleans back in the first round of this year’s draft.

The Saints are now the fourth different team to own this particular first-round selection,

which has changed hands from the San Francisco 49ers to the Miami Dolphins, then onto Denver and now New Orleans.
