5 Running Back draft targets for Cowboys to consider this April

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of questions to be answered before the NFL draft,

now just over away, and running back looms as one of the biggest.

Tony Pollard is an unrestricted free agent who put together his most productive season,

rushing for 1,007 yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 39 receptions for 371 yards and three more scores.

Pollard suffered a high ankle sprain and a surgery-requiring broken fibula in the divisional round loss,

however,  complicating matters. The Cowboys have the option of using the franchise tag which will keep him for another year at a $10.1 million cap hit.

Ezekiel Elliott is due $10.9 million this year and while he scored 12 times and is one of the unquestioned leaders on this team,

he posted his lowest rushing output of his career

. He is no longer the dynamic or explosive runner he used to be. Elliott will need to take a pay cut to remain with the team.
