Another star player on Clemson's defense won't be playing in the Orange Bowl

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers won’t be missing just Myles Murphy for their Orange Bowl matchup with Tennessee.

Swinney announced to the media today that star linebacker Trenton Simpson will not be playing in the Orange Bowl after reinjuring his ankle in the ACC Championship game.

It is another blow for the Tigers though it is in the best interest of Simpson as he has a clear path to becoming a first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

While Simpson hasn’t announced whether he will be heading to the NFL draft or not,

he has appeared in the first round of a plethora of early mock drafts.

Swinney said he’ll let Simpson reveal his future plans when the junior is ready.

Simpson started 12 games for the Tigers this season recording 77 tackles,

four tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three pass breakups, nine quarterback pressures and two forced fumbles.
