Kentucky faces an eight-game Southeastern Conference schedule that includes Georgia and Alabama.
However, defensive line coach Anwar Stewart says that is not the “hardest” obstacle UK faces.
“My job is to motivate them and give them all the material they need to be successful. Saturday is for them. My job is to prepare them Sunday through Friday.
“I want to grind them, build them up so Saturday they can fly around and have a great time. We can always do more. I always talk about not getting comfortable.”
Stewart knows UK’s first four games, including three at home, are not what the first four final eight will be opponent-wise. But he knows how important those games are.
“Those games lead up to the gauntlet we have. We have to push these guys,”
Stewart said. “I started in June. We had a great offseason. I am excited with the work our guys have put in.
“We are going to get after these guys. I give everything I have every day and that’s what I expect from them in return. We don’t seek comfort or find somewhere to hide.
