Former Clemson star defensive end Clelin Ferrell has had a rather challenging start to his NFL career but will get an opportunity with a new team in 2023 as he looks to get back on track.
The No.4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Ferrell has lacked the production of a top pick in his four seasons with the Raiders.
Though his totals of 105 total tackles, 15 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 32 quarterback hits, 11 passed defended,
and a couple of forced fumbles are respectable numbers, it isn’t what a team is looking for out of a first-round pick,
especially a top five one. Even so, we’ve seen what Ferrell is capable of and the right team could tap into the former Tigers’ immense ceiling.
NBC’s Pro Football Talk recently released their top 100 2023 free agents, with Ferrell ranking No.96 on the list.
Though his production hasn’t been there, they likely acknowledge that changing scenery could do wonders for a guy like Ferrell.
He will be a popular name to track in the 2023 free agency cycle.
