New Dolphins CB Eli Apple talks about being teammates with Tyreek Hill

After cornerback Jalen Ramsey suffered a meniscus injury in just his second practice of training camp, the Miami Dolphins went out and signed former Cincinnati Bengal Eli Apple.

While Apple brings with him the veteran experience of 78 career starts over seven seasons, he also has his own history with superstar wideout Tyreek Hill.

The two players have gone back and forth on social media in recent years, but since Apple’s arrival in South Florida, the cornerback says he’s spoken to him, and there’s no more beef between the twos.

“His locker is literally right across from mine,” Apple said. “I saw him earlier today in the locker room and we were chopping it up a little bit at the training and breakfast table.

We all good. It’s all love. We’re on the same team. All love.”

In fact, Hill is even doing his best to make Apple feel familiar with the building and those around him.

“We were just talking a little bit,” Apple said. “He was telling me about the guys on the defense and catching me up and introducing me to the coaches I hadn’t met yet. I

It was cool, it was a great introduction.”

Apple and Hill have stepped on the field together, but there’s yet to be a one-on-one battle at practice. The cornerback is ready for the competition when it comes.

“He’s definitely one of the most athletic athletes in the whole world,” he said. “Every day going against him is going to make everybody better.”

Once Apple gets adjusted to his new team, it will be very interesting to see where he slots in, in Miami’s cornerback depth chart.

He’ll have stiff competition with Kader Kohou and impressive rookie Cam Smith already showcasing their talents in camp.
