Five-star CB Cormani McClain flips commitment from Miami to Colorado

Not even commits are safe from the grasp of Deion Sanders.

Five-star cornerback Cormani McClain had been committed to Miami since October but after neglecting to sign during the early signing period,

his name soon became linked to Colorado. Now about one month later, the No. 1 class of 2023 cornerback flipped his pledge ,

and joined the Buffs on Thursday, per multiple reports.

McClain became one of the nation’s top prospects after recording a combined 15 interceptions during his sophomore ,

and junior seasons at Lake Gibson High School in Florida.

The 247Sports Composite ranks the 6-foot-2, 165-pound corner as the No. 12 overall prospect for 2023.

If this story sounds familiar, it is. Sanders also flipped last year’s No. 1 cornerback Travis Hunter from Florida State to Jackson State.

McClain, who visited CU last Friday, now passes four-star running back Dylan Edwards as Colorado’s top-rated commit for 2023.

Also of note, Coach Prime’s first recruiting class in Boulder improves to No. 19 nationwide and No. 3 in the Pac-12.
