Former Michigan football WR Andrel Anthony makes transfer commitment

Michigan football fans had high hopes for wide receiver Andrel Anthony. And it started from the jump.

Anthony was originally from East Lansing. Though Michigan State made a big push for him as a recruit,

he spurned the Spartans for the Wolverines.

Then, in his first game against MSU, he scored two touchdowns, including a 90-plus yard catch-and-run,

elevating his prospects in short order.

However, in his second year, he struggled to reel the ball in,

and he opted to seek greener pastures via the NCAA transfer portal. Though schools like MSU re-offered,

Anthony chose to go to a rebuilding Big 12 power, committing to Oklahoma on Tuesday.

Anthony has two years of eligibility remaining. With him out of the fold,

the Wolverines will have to rely on the new blood they brought in via the 2022 class — Tyler Morris,

Darrius Clemons and Amorion Walker — in addition to Semaj Morgan and Fredrick Moore,

who are on campus as early enrollees in the 2023 class.
