Armon Bethea is leaving Arizona State as the former offensive lineman from Brooklyn hitting the transfer portal on Monday.
He is a 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman from powerhouse program Erasmus Hall (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
A class of 2021 recruit, in high school Bethea was not offered by Rutgers football although he had a number of Power Five offers including Arkansas,
Georgia Tech, Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Ole Miss and Pittsburgh among others.
At Erasmus Hall, he played on both the offensive and defensive lines.
Originally, he was recruited to Arizona State as an offensive lineman ,
but transitioned to the defensive line as a freshman to help with depth issues.
He was ranked a three-star and the fifth-best recruit in New York during his senior season.
