Georgia TE Brock Bowers has case to be top-5 NFL pick

Georgia knew what it had in tight end Brock Bowers from the jump. The Nappa, Cali., native bursted onto the scene as a freshman and helped take the Bulldogs to the promise land in 2021.

Not only did Bowers lead the national champions in receiving and receiving touchdowns that season,

he also broke the UGA record for the most receiving touchdowns in a season by both tight ends and receivers and tied the record for the most receptions in a season by a freshman.

The two-time All-American was given the Mackey Award in 2022 as a sophomore after boosting Georgia to a 15-0 season and another national title.

Bowers is widely considered one of the top NFL draft prospects in the country headed into his junior season.

Former Florida tight end Kyle Pitts is the most recent example of a dominant tight end that prompted an NFL team to make an unprecedented move early in draft.

The Atlanta Falcons took Pitts with the No. 4 overall pick in 2021, which set an NFL record for the highest-drafted player at the position in NFL history.

Comparing Bowers and Pitts’ production gives us an idea of how Bowers might be viewed by NFL teams headed into the 2024 draft.
