Kirk Herbstreit's son and Ohio State tight end, Zak, hospitalized, in stable condition

Please join all of Buckeye Nation in wishing a speedy recovery for Ohio State tight end, Zak Herbstreit, son of former Buckeye quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herstreit.

According to Clay Hall of the local ABC affiliate in Columbus, Herbstreit was hospitalized with an undisclosed illness,

 but in stable condition. Herbstreit’s dad later confirmed that his son was at the OSU Wexner Medical Center ,

and thanked all of those that reached out for support in a Tweet of his own.

“My son Zak is in the hospital and wanted me to send this note out,” wrote Kirk.

 “I just wanted to add how much we appreciate so many people reaching out concerned about his well-being.

He has a long journey ahead of him.

His dad passed along the following from Zack.

“I have had a bit of a setback these past couple of weeks. Not feeling right,” relayed Zak. “Culminated with tests results this past Friday that forced me into the hospital.

 I have some of the best cardiologists looking after me, and I am beyond appreciative.

We are doing a number of tests and making a plan to ensure that I can be back to feeling normal again.

 I appreciate the overwhelming support over the past couple of days. I am feeling good and hope to be out of the hospital soon.”
