ESPN tabs rivalry matchup as season-defining game for Clemson

Every college football season, there are defining games that shape the College Football Playoff (CFP) field and bowl season,

and Clemson may be involved in a handful of those impactful matchups in 2023.

Last season, it was Clemson’s losses to Notre Dame and South Carolina that ultimately kept the Tigers out of the CFP.

This upcoming year, one writer believes there are a couple of critical games Clemson will need to win.

To Adelson’s point, Florida State and South Carolina pose great challenges for head coach Dabo Swinney and the Tigers.

Although Clemson will have the fortune of playing the Seminoles at home,

Florida State is widely projected to be among the top teams in 2023 after falling just short against the Tigers last season.

As for the Gamecocks, they have a chance to win back-to-back Palmetto Bowls,

for the first time since 2012-2013 and will play at home on Nov. 25.
