Madden 23 Release Date

Madden NFL 23, the latest entry in the long-running football video game series, will arrive on August 19 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.

Madden is an annual bestseller, with a player base that steadily increases.

Madden 23 is the first game in the series to launch after the death of its namesake, John Madden, in late 2021.

The Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster is celebrated on the cover of the new game.

Madden last provided color commentary for the series in 2009.

He was replaced by Sunday Night Football commentator Cris Collinsworth both in-game and in the broadcast booth.

Like last year's Madden, Madden 23 will feature an upgraded AI and physics engine called FieldSense on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

FieldSense impacts nearly every on-field interaction, from tackles and collisions at the line of scrimmage, to touch passes and matchups between receivers and defensive backs.

The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of the game won't use field sense, but will benefit from quality of life changes to the game's AI, animations, and playbooks.

Madden 23 will be released on August 19 and you can preorder it now. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S editions are priced at $70. PS4, Xbox One, and PC editions cost $60.
