The 2023 high school football season officially kicks off today as teams across Michigan converge on local gridirons for the opening day of practice.
The MLive high school sports department has been busy prepping for the fall sports season with our annual media day events in
what’s become the unofficial start to the proceedings before helmets are snapped on, cleats are tied and whistles echo off the bleachers.
Last week, we held three events featuring high school football teams from across the West Michigan area at various locations ranging from West Ottawa, Grand Haven and Oakridge.
Players and coaches from the Muskegon and Grand Rapids area stopped for photos
and interviews as they got the opportunity to talk about lessons learned from the 2022 season, offseason progress and 2023 season goals.
