New No. 1 in 2023 college football recruiting team rankings

Even when Notre Dame got off to an incredibly hot start in recruiting in Marcus Freeman’s

first off-season as a head coach you knew that the always powerful programs

like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Clemson among others would come charging before too long.

Well, it’s safe to say that time has officially come.

After four-star tight end Ty Lockwood of Thompson’s Station,

Tennessee flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Alabama on Tuesday, the Crimson Tide sits atop the 247Sports composite team rankings for the first time with the 2023 recruiting class.

Alabama now has 18 commitments; four of which are five-star talents and 11 more who are graded at four stars.

How does the rest of the top 30 now shake out?
