Notre Dame loses captain for remainder of year

Notre Dame’s defense will be playing a man down the rest of the season as Bo Bauer suffered a knee injury at practice Tuesday.

Marcus Freeman met the media with his regular Thursday availability and shared the unfortunate news.

“Sustained a knee injury in practice on Tuesday,

which is devastating just because he’s a captain and he provides so much more than just production.”

When asked about how the injury impacts Notre Dame for the rest of 2022,

Freeman shared that Bauer’s loss isn’t just about him making tackles himself.

“Just the energy, the ability to motivate our players, it’ll be a tremendous loss for us.”

A 2018 recruit from Pennsylvania, Bauer  Bo Bauer recorded 120 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions,

and 6.5 pass breakups during his time at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame sits at 3-2 on the year and now will be without their graduate linebacker and captain the rest of the way.
