Ohio State loses running back commitment for 2023 class

The Ohio State football program is down to 20 commitments for the 2023 class after losing its lone running back for the cycle decommitted on Wednesday evening.

Mark Fletcher Jr, out of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, committed to the Buckeyes back on April 16 of this year.

The 6-foot, 1-inch, 225-pounder is currently ranked as the No. 9 running back,

and 202nd overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Fletcher seemed pretty solid in his commitment until recently when the pull of remaining closer to home,

and perhaps in the sunshine state has become a part of the rumblings.

Florida and Miami (FL) appear to be in the lead to flip the South Florida native.

With the news, you can bet that Ohio State will now put ratchet things up with other running back prospects out there for the 2023 class.

In fact, the Buckeyes have been linked to a potential visit from 5-star running back Rueben Owens out of Texas for the game against Michigan on November 26 according to 247Sports.

We’ll stay on top of any further news that comes from this latest development,

and the continued high-stakes game of big-time college recruiting.
