Once the games begin, we will have a better idea of who the contenders and pretenders really are.

We kick it off at the top with the two-time defending champions. 1. Georgia Bulldogs Last Season: 15-0 (8-0 in the SEC) Last game: Georgia rolled TCU in the CFP Championship, 65-7.

2. Alabama Crimson Tide Last Season: 11-2 (6-2 in the SEC) Last game: Alabama defeated Kansas State in the Allstate Sugar Bowl, 45-20

3. Ohio State Buckeyes Last Season: 11-2 (8-1 in the Big Ten) Last Game: Ohio State fell to Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl (CFP Semifinal), 42-41.
