The Georgia Bulldogs are expected to open the 2023 college football season as the nation’s No. 1 ranked team.
Fresh off of back-to-back national championships,
And given the amount of talent returning to Athens this season, those odds make sense.
For a better understanding on the level of talent at UGA this fall, look no further than Phil Steele’s Preseason All-SEC teams. Georgia placed 15 players across Steele’s first,
second, third and fourth team. That’s the most in the conference, with Alabama in second with 12 players.
Steele also says the Bulldogs boast the best group of players in the nation on both the offensive line and at the linebacker position.
He placed four of Georgia’s offensive linemen on his All-SEC teams.
At linebacker, Georgia returns its top two producers from last season, Smael Mondon and Jamon Dumas-Johnson.

There’s also Xavian Sorey, Chaz Chambliss, Marvin Jones Jr. and Jalon Walker. Plus plenty of other young talent.
Georgia also had 7 players make Steele’s Preseason All-America teams.
Again, that’s the most in the nation, with Alabama and Ohio State tied for second with six players each.
