Round of 31: Latest mock draft projections in the first round

The initial wave of free agency has come and gone, now NFL teams can focus on the next wave of signings and finalizing their draft boards.

The top storylines will be the quarterbacks for good reason. Either you have a franchise quarterback or you don’t.

Teams such as the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts don’t have one at the moment.

Luckily for those organizations, they have selections among the top four.

The NFL draft is just over a month away. Despite March Madness taking center stage, we have our own Round of 31 ,

as we project each selection in the first round with College Sports Wire’s latest mock.

1. Carolina Panthers via Chicago CJ Stroud, QB: Ohio State Buckeyes It is no secret that Carolina Panthers head coach Frank Reich prefers bigger quarterbacks which takes Bryce Young off my list here.

2. Houston Texans Bryce Young, QB: Alabama Crimson Tide With Stround going No. 1, this all but seals Bryce Young going to the Houston Texans as they address the franchise quarterback.

3. Arizona Cardinals Tyree Wilson, Edge: Texas Tech Red Raiders The Arizona Cardinals are in a prime position to trade back and pick up selections.

4. Indianapolis Colts Anthony Richardson, QB: Florida Gators The Indianapolis Colts have their pick of the remaining two quarterbacks with a first-round grade on my board.

5. Seattle Seahawks via Denver Will Anderson Jr, Edge: Alabama Crimson Tide Anderson is the No. 1 player on my board but as we have often seen, that doesn’t always mean he will go the

6. Detroit Lions via the Los Angeles Rams Devon Witherspoon, CB: Illinois Fighting Illini Cornerback isn’t the Detroit Lions‘ biggest need after a flurry of pickups at the position.

7. Las Vegas Raiders Peter Skoronski, OT: Northwestern Wildcats The Las Vegas Raiders could address the quarterback position here but beefing up the offensive line is too good to pass up.

8. Atlanta Falcons Christian Gonzalez, CB: Oregon Ducks The Atlanta Falcons get a top-tier cornerback that can help the backend of the defense with Christian Gonzalez.

9. Chicago Bears via the Carolina Panthers Jalen Carter, DL: Georgia Bulldogs Carter was once viewed as a lock for the No. 1 overall pick but his poor performance at the Georgia pro day could push him to the Chicago Bears after they traded back.

10. Philadelphia Eagles via the New Orleans Saints
