Twitter reacts: Clemson fan wins $10,000 on 94-foot put

The Clemson men’s basketball team wasn’t the only winner in Littlejohn Coliseum on Saturday.

During the Tigers’ game against Virginia Tech, Kevin Murphy, a Clemson fan, hit a 94-foot golf put to win $10,000.

The challenge, sponsored by Roto-Rooter, a plumbing and water cleanup company,

is a fan-favorite during games at Littlejohn, and this time the put went in, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

It was the first of two miraculous feats, as the Tigers (16-4, 8-1 ACC) defeated the Hokies by one point.

Along with Murphy, Clemson forward Hunter Tyson made his mark on the night,

burying a game-winning 3-pointer with just 10.8 seconds left in the game.

The fifth-year forward ended the game with 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting and 2-of-7 from beyond the arc,

while PJ Hall led the way once again, pouring in a game-high 20 points.

But for this fan, the win may not have been the highlight of the night.
