What 13 teams made the cutdown for 2026 safety prospect Jireh Edwards?

Jireh Edwards released his top 13 programs on Wednesday night.

 Some of the top programs in the nation are represented in the freshman defensive back’s paring down of his list.

A safety at Rock Creek Christian Academy (Upper Marlboro, MD),

 Edwards is one of the top defensive backs in the class of 2026. His latest offer came this month from Tennessee.

He is a 6-foot-1, 194-pound safety prospect who moves well and plays with a tough, nasty streak.

A total of three Big Ten teams (Maryland, Penn State and Rutgers) are on Edwards’ list.

The rest of the list includes strong representation by the SEC (Arkansas,

Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M) as well as the ACC (Boston College, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech).
