SEC Championship: 5 reasons why Georgia beats LSU

On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs (12-0) will take on the LSU Tigers (9-3) in the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

The game will kickoff at 4 p.m. ET and will air on CBS.

Georgia’s a lock for the College Football Playoff, so a loss would not kill the Dawgs.

But Kirby Smart knows the importance of winning the SEC and has not done so since 2017, so don’t expect for UGA to look past this game.

LSU is no longer in contention for the playoffs after losing to Texas A&M last week.

At this point, first-year Tigers head coach Brian Kelly would love nothing more than winning the conference in his first year.

Georgia’s a 17.5-point favorite per BetMGM. The over/under is set at 51.5.

The money line reads Georgia (minus-1000) and LSU (plus-625).

Here are five reasons Georgia beats LSU on Saturday…

5. Jayden Daniels has a hurt ankle 4. LSU has allowed 41 sacks this year 3. Georgia's running game is heating up

2. Running back Josh Williams is also banged up

1. Georgia's the better team Georgia finished 12-0 compared to LSU’s 9-3.

Georgia ranks No. 1 in scoring defense compared to LSU’s No. 33 ranking.

Georgia’s No. 12 in scoring offense compared to LSU’s No. 39.

Overall, Georgia has the better athletes.

I don’t think it will be close. Kirby Smart values SEC championships a ton, has been here before and wants to claim his first conference title since 2017.

If anyone thinks Georgia will not be awake for this game due to the fact that it’s a lock for the playoffs, they’d be wrong.
