When I listen to Joel Klatt Speak about college football, I wonder whether there is any commentator who covers the game more thoroughly.
When I hear or see what he says, there are times when I begin to question whether or not we are paying attention to the same sport or game.
Klatt unveiled his preseason top 25 rankings on Monday, the same day the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll results were revealed.
In the Coaches Poll, Notre Dame was rated as high as No. 13, although Klatt had the Irish far further down the list at No. 18.
Klatt draws attention to the obvious but underplays the difference between Hartman and Drew Pyne at quarterback, which changes the method Notre Dame will use for their attack.
Nevertheless, the following table presents Klatt’s evaluation of the remaining 25 college football teams before the 2023 season.
