Alabama ranks No. 3 in the 2023 preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

In just a few short weeks, the first game of the 2023 college football season will begin.

It is time to look at the top 25 teams in the country. The preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll placed Alabama in third place, which means they will begin the season in that position.

As a result of the significant number of starting players who left Tuscaloosa during the summer of 2023, including Bryce Young, Will Anderson Jr., and Jahmyr Gibbs, many football analysts expected that Alabama would be ranked somewhere around No. 5. Teams like LSU and Ohio State would be ranked higher than the Tide.

Only Georgia and Michigan are ranked higher than Alabama in the Coaches Poll. Alabama is now ranked third.
